The table below shows the total number of students studying different subjects in a college and the percentage of boys and girls.

Correct Answer: 5: 6
Solution : The total number of girls in all the subjects
= 60% of 110 + 50%of 70 + 30%of 50 + 80%of 40 + 20%of 80 + 40%of 90
= 66 + 35 + 15 + 32 + 16 + 36
= 200
Number of boys in all the subjects
= Total students – Number of girls in all the subjects
= 440 – 200 = 220
So, the required ratio = 200 : 240 = 5 : 6
Hence, the correct answer is 5 : 6.
