What is the main message of Psalm 34? ›

Psalm 34 is a psalm of promise on how we can stay in happiness even with enemies and pain swirling around us. If we have His eyes upon us and His face turned toward us – then we have nothing to fear.

My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

In Psalm 34, David praises God for deliverance from a life-threatening situation—perhaps his encounter with King Achish of Gath, later remembered as Abimelech. Second, Psalm 34 is an alphabetic acrostic. Each verse begins with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
